I'm an educator and I run a local meeting place for teenage girls.
We had another meeting on a Saturday evening. Before I left, I noticed that there was a lot of messaging in the group chat, which I couldn't keep up with because of time restrictions.
As the first girls arrived, it turned out that an “unfriendly” answer to a question in the chat had caused trouble in the group. I asked the girls right at the start if they wanted to talk about it. There was a short discussion. The girl who had given the unfriendly answer explained that she hadn't meant it that way and apologized.
Nevertheless, the atmosphere was very tense.
That evening, I left the room for a short time to get something.
When I came back, the conflict, which was still smouldering, had escalated.
There was one young girl who had been deeply affected emotionally and other girls were very upset.
I tried to de-escalate with a change of perspective and dialog.
But somehow the evening was over and I blamed myself for not being able to protect “my chicks” well enough.

I got home at around 22:00 and there was no way I was going to sleep. I decided to sit down and think about how I wanted to deal with the situation in the future and came up with some solutions.
Feeling relieved and reasonably satisfied with the plans (= conflict resolution), I went to bed. During the night, I woke up because of pain in my left shoulder, which got worse and worse over the course of the next day. As I know the New Medicine very well, it was clear to me that this was the healing phase of the conflict from yesterday. It was interesting that I started the SBS in my mother/child shoulder (“Being a bad mother”). I have no children myself, but regard children entrusted to me as my charges, for whom I feel responsible, as if they were my children.
Over the next two days, the pain increased even more and the freedom of movement in my left arm was significantly restricted. If I hadn't known what was going on, I would almost certainly have gone to the doctor. It was clear, however, that it would soon be over. I woke up on the third night and had to go to the toilet urgently. The epi-crisis set in and with it the urinary flood phase. The pain became less and less the following day and after a week it was all over.
